Investing for Employment (IFE), an initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development on 18/05/2023 met with Ghana National Chamber of Pharmacy at Miklin Hotel, Accra. This meeting was aimed at contributing to the special initiative’s objective of improving economic conditions in the pharmaceutical industry in Ghana, as well as promoting investment for jobs.
The aim of the Special Initiative is to remove obstacles to investment in Ghana’s Pharmaceutical Industry, facilitate investment and thereby create more and better local employment opportunities. The two largest organizations implementing Investing for Employment Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and KfW Development Bank (KfW).
Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) has put together a package of measures to support German, European and African companies in investment activities that have a high impact on employment in Africa. The Special Initiative “Decent Work for a Just Transition” – the official title – offers comprehensive advice, contacts and financial support to overcome investment barriers.
The development objective is to work together with members of Ghana National Chamber of Pharmacy to create up to 100,000 good jobs and to improve working conditions in Ghana.
